Phlog is back!
Yes, after a mysterious month's long disappearance, Phlog is back to occupy space on my blog. Apparently, there was a technical glitch on the part of Whisktech. However, after corresponding with them ,the problem is now rectified.
Hey heh! My Handphone is once again, able to blog! Wednesday will be the first big project run by the Council,
CJC Graduation Night 2004
Time to unveil
Marina Mandarin Grand Ballroom, 1845 hours.
Will be blogging constantly to keep my phlog updated. Heh. The council guys will be wearing all black coupled with a silver tie and our golden badge. We're gonna look super stunning man. Heh. Well, tomorrow will be the final briefing till Grad night and so i'm prayin hard no last minute problems will arise.
Can't wait for Thursday to arrive, the entire 29th will be heading towards Sentosa for a full day of fun and bonding. This is not only to psyche ourselves up for the oncoming Orientation programs, but also to rekindle lost contacts. We'll be having a tiny BBQ there too, chicken courtesy of me of course My specialty -
Black Pepper Chicken Steak.
Did my own marinate today, a mixture of ginger oil, teriyaki sauce, Tabasco, cinnamon, Rosemary, butter and garlic. Tasted fabulous. Maybe next time i should market my own creations.
Alan's Sauces.
Whoa. Been busy of late doing games for Orientation, finally completed it just now. I came up with roughly about 20+ games to be used for O1, most of them are adaptations from games that i've played within the space of my education, however, there are a few original creations. Heh. Yeap, and one thing - Next year's Orientation will see the J1s going off to
Kallang for Dragon Boating! It has been approved already. Woohoo! It is definitely going to be a smash hit!
Thank God Mr. Tan took over the council late this year, if it weren't for him, such games will most probably not materialise at all. :D. Thinking of more outdoor games to make O1 more interesting, but M&S will be a big headache....well. I still have 1/2 a month to to think over it. Hopefully by then, most of the games will be approved.
Will type a report once the event is over.

Camp Sapphire, one week gone
Its has been a week since Camp Sapphire ended. Kinda miss all the regimental things that basically will be the only way i'll live in a year's time for the next 2 years of my life. I intend to sign up, if my As prohibit me from entering the MEd. Fac at NUS. Will try my best to compete though, i already have a Biology Special paper under my belt, so i guess i'm at least still competitive. But somehow, i'll still trudging along, thinking that it is rather futile, considering that people who usually get admitted into the Med. Fac are
siao kias who are like, doing
4 As and 4 S papers. Heh. Still, i'll try to get in, and if possible, sign up for OCS and go for the
LSA Local Study Award.
A millitary Medical profession for me?
I'm thinking about signing on for the army as it is the only way my Uni fees can be settled without my parents footing a single cent. If i get the LSA awarded to Officer Cadets who are in OCS, it means that the 35K Med course fee will be wholly paid for by the Government of Singapore. My parents will not have to spend a single cent. Yay. Perfect scenario thta is. Upon completion of my 4 years in Uni, i will go back to OCS and learn Millitary Medicine. Thereafter, passing out as a Medical Officer. An immediate Lieutanant. That is cool.
But somewhere in my heart tells me that i want to be in a combat vocation, Guards or Infantry maybe. I want to suffer like the rest, not be confined in an air-conditioned room all day.
Hence, a contigency.
If i do not get myself into the Med. Fac, i will consider signing up as a Combat Officer, maybe in the Guards or Infantry, Intel will be fine too. The pay for officers are quite good, and it is literally a mtal rice bowl. Whihc will be good for my family.
Well, Camp sapphire did open my eyes to the boundless opportunitites that the a carrer in the Army can provide.
Training to be a soldier
Training to be a soldier, fight for our land,
once in our life, two years of our time.
Have you every wondered?
Why must we serve.
Becase we love out land, and we want it to be free
to be free....HYAH!

Heh heh! I'm back! A new and rejuvenated Alan
Spent most of today doing Grad Night preparations, yeap, it is going to be a complete smash man! Woo hoo!
To Anonymous. Hi, well, what can i say. I've nothing more to say. Hahah. Yeap. I have a few possible people in mind. Dave maybe? perhaps so, but nah, i'll save my brain space to think about something else worth thinking about.
For those not in the know, Do Not look down on CJC
Just heard from Desmond that we're placed 11 in the rankings, rather schizophrenic i'ld say. From the 13th we were placed earlier this year. Also heard that the cut-off point has been reduced to 14. Brother Paul is really radical in his changes man, but i guess it is for the common good of the school. Heh. Yo DJ, don't look down on CJ, serious. If you compare in terms of discipline and studying environment, i'd say CJ is tops man.
Thats all...for now.
Bought a rugby ball today, no one to play it with me, but i guess it is something that i've always wanted. So it is worth paying for.

Avril Lavigne- I'm with you
This song of hers aptly describes my feelings right now. Been feeling lonely these past few days, for reasons one or another. This world seems so cold...so placid, in an ominous way. It ignores me, leaves me alone, throws me aside. Lets me to die in a dark alley, shuts me out from the warmths of friendship, flings me out of the warm grasp of love. I need someone to hold me dear.
..:: I'm with you ::..
i'm standing on the bridge
i'm waiting in the dark
i thought that you'd be here
by now
there's nothing but the rain
no footsteps on the ground
i'm listening but there's
no sound
isn't anyone trying to find me
won't somebody come take me home
it's a damn cold night
trying to figure out this life
won't you
take me by the hand
take me somewhere new
i don't know who you are but i
i'm with you
i'm with you
i'm looking for a place
i'm searching for a face
is anybody here
i know
cause nothing's going right
and everything's a mess
and no one likes to be
alone
isn't anyone trying to find me
won't somebody come take me home
it's a damn cold night
trying to figure out this life
won't you
take me by the hand
take me somewhere new
i don't know who you are but i
i'm with you
i'm with you
why is everything so confusing
maybe i'm just out of my mind
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
it's a damn cold night
trying to figure out this life
won't you
take me by the hand
take me somewhere new
i don't know who you are but i
i'm with you
i'm with you
take me by the hand

Army, here i come
Today is book out day from Camp Sapphire. Camp sapphire is very much a mock up of a BMT kind of thing. It isn't as tough or as physically demanding, but the things we do are roughly about similiar.
Today's program was rather slack, as in, much time was spent waiting for a lost platoon who had thier bus coming late. The main hihglight of today's camp was the trip to Pulau Tekong, the traditional rites of passage for most boys to becoming real Men. Also visted the School of Infantry Specialists, or more commonly known as SISPEC. Don't intend to enroll in SISPEC though, but it was an eye-opener as to how a Army specialist lives, works, trains and suffers. A real eye-opener to say the least.
What i've learnt so far during CS,
1) In Army, you get to see many different trypes of people, from the very blur ones, to the very Garang ones. From the friendly ones, to the very rude ones.
2) Army food is okay, not very excellent, but edible to say the least.
3) Singing Army songs during marches are a great morale and spirit booster.
4) Always greet your Sergeants as "Sergeants" and Officers as "Sirs".
5) The army No.4 is fire resistant, but retains the smell from the training a day ago.
6) Never apply Camo cream like how you would applying paint.
7) Sleep by 2230hrs every night, or die the next day.
8) Always air-dry your No.4 the night before, or die from the smell the next day.
9) IFC is interesting
10) The "fast-craft" to tekong isn't exactly fast.
11) Drink plenty of water.
Thats about all i can think of right now
We'll be doing M16 weapons handling on Wednesday and live firing on Thursday. Yeah man!
A response to "Anonymous"
First of all, i would like to make a point. Please input your name, instead of leaving it blank, as it is the most fundemental form of courtesy. I would greatly appreciate that. Thanks.
Secondly, thank you for highlighting your concern if it is one actually, however. Let me point out an area that i would like elucidated. Yeap, i do agree with you that respect should be earned, not entitled. Perhaps, you may feel that i'm not fit for the job, whihc at times, i feel can be very tough, but i do have one thing that entitlment with or without it can provide - Self-respect and Integrity. I respect the fact that i'm willing to learn from comments like yours, and i have the integrity to stand up to it and not wrap myself in cowardice and take cover. Being who i am, i feel that there are areas of discipline that i should upkeep and uphold. However, we are all human beings afterall, one cannot just live in a sheel and be contented for the rest of his life. Hence, i may seem abit more on the non-serious, totally lackadaisical side, then that is the side which i do not usually show. Close friends of mine will understand what i mean. :D
If you'ld like to get in touch with me, over some pressing matters that you may have, please, do feel free to e-mail me as I'm always open to suggestions on how i should improve on certain things. I will greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
My e-mail is scionfire@yahoo.com or if you'll like to make any comments, do fell free to e-mail it here too : feedback29cjcsc@yahoo.com
Some quotes for all of us to ponder on as well :

"A leader is a man who assumes responsibility, he says 'Iwas beaten'; he does not say 'My men were beaten'" Antoine de Saint-Exupery

I've managed to properly re-link my pictures. Yay
Finally,
Firedlunacies.blogspot.com is back to full health! Cheers!
I was bored just now, so guess what did i do...
I took photos of my handphone, a Sony Ericsson
T610. Enjoy :D
WHY?
because.....
1. It is free
2. It is not like Geocities or Homestead. Homestead is very anal while geocities, is well...confused.
3. It is fast and easy to use
4. All my pictures turn out fine
5. There are no limitations, except that the bandwidth they provide is rather low, but it is sufficient for usage.
6. It is not a stupid utterly idiotic
Free 30 day trial period program.
Bottom line is, it rocks my cookies baybey

Yay, my blog is once again, revived!
Phew, after all these days of pondering and scouring the deepest recesses of my brain to solve my little technical dilema, i've finally manged to ameliorate the situation. It still perplexes me how i can actually overlook the usefullness of Geocities, perhaps i was able to fully exploit its functions, but i decided to give geocities another shot. It turned out to be the elusive magic bullet to tear away at my technical problems. Heh. this time, the pictures are going to stay for
as long as i desire them to stay as it is linked from a webpage of mine that i did decades ago , and somehow manahed to fully erase it from the little speck in my neuro cavity that is my brain.
I'm still being plagued by a few techinal adjustments here and there, but it should be fixed in a matter of minutes.

It stinks to have school debaters as your audiences during Project work OP
Yes! i'm done with project work, whatever that happens to it will no longer be within my scope of control, and hence, i'm not going to bother too much about it. Finally, after 8 months of pure feacal experiences, IPW is a thing of the past for me, that its, untill it comes back to haunt me in my A level cert. But bah, i'm more interested in doing well for my As.
Today's OP was fine, we were the first group to present and as if luck was trying to make a
Mockery of my group, we were placed in a slot whereby the other two groups had a
school debaterWooooo....... in each of them. Not only that, they weren't just normal school debaters, they were the
creme de la creme, of the school's debating squad.
Joyce Hooi : 6 pointer, taking 4 As and 3 'S' Papers, top for GP And Lit. Eloquent school debater.
Sonia Taj Marican : School Debater, shortlisted for National Squad to represent Singapore.
I, as the leader of my group, felt bare and totally stripped of all prestige and position in light of their over-shining prowess, but i guess we did well to stand against them. I had a consolating point though, i was the only presenter present to present my slides completely off the cuff. No Q-cards, no scraps of paper, just me and my animated hand gestures.
The two debaters naturally relied less extensively on their Q cards, but the fact remains that they
had it anyways. Bah.
My brain was spurting out bits and pieces of information for my mouth to decipher at such a rapid-fire rate that i was literally saying out whatever my brain transpired. I just kept talking and talking, whatever my brain fed my mouth with, i said it. Hah. Thankfully, the accessors were able to understand what incoherent bits of info i was saying. Overall, my group did quite well, i would say. So heres a
Toast! to all my project work team-mates!
CHEERS!
Aishah, my sista.
Clara, Ms Tomato
Ng Hong Geh, Chameleon
Thanks guys.
My abs are forming, yes, i can see it breaking through the fatty layer of my stomach
Tried the dance fitness course with Desmond today and one sentence sums it all up
Give me Mass PE anytime! It is less agonizing that this
For an hour's of workout, the outcome was totally unexpected. My ab muscles are really sore now, rather tight. And my thigh muscles have been drained of all available reserves of Adenosine Triphosphates, in addition, it is also soaked in lactic acid. It is very
tzai for an hour's workout, considering that not only did we get to sweat it out like mad, we actually got to do something which Mass pe can never give - The feeling of pain :
Extreme pain and agony.
But it was enjoyable, especially after the workout, when we were literally limping and dragging our feet and not to mention, bags on the floor, walking like zombies out the center's doors. Looking forward to it again this friday. The ex-co and Grad nite com heads and ICs will be going together, and of course
suffering together. Haha.
I see my 6-pacs forming!

Well, this is untill yahoo decides to shut down its photo services. No gloating here, but i just feel happy for my resourcefullness. Hah. Tried Dave's recommendations, but found it unsuitable for my usage as it was rather tedious. Hence, i improvised on another method

Very sorry guys, my blog will remain like this for quite sometime.
Dang, i just realised my method to reinstate my pictures didn't work. I
absolutely refuse to use homestead again for one simple reason -
after 30 days, i need to re-sign up which is stupid. Anyways, tried just now for kicks, appears that homestead doesn't want me either. Heh. I plan to use geocities to host my pictures, but its "Yahoo page builder" program doesn't work on my comp, funny. It doesn't even load!
An appeal for charity to those out there who is willing to help a blog regain its full vigor
Anyone willing to host my pictures? Heh, i doubt anyone will be, but if you are a
charitable, kind, friendly person, please do me a favor. Haha. Dun taje this seriously lah. I'll find my own host. But one condition -
i won't freakin pay. I have no cash you see. heh

It has been quite a while huh
Last friday signalled the end of my first year in Junior College. For right now, i hold proud, the term "J2" to my name. Yes, i'm no longer a freshie, but a Senior! Woohoo!
Mum came back from Macau two days ago, and she came back with hordes of food products to give her friends and relatives. One consumable caught my eye
"Macau Pork Jerky". It is actually Bah Kwa, but made in Macau. It is damn nice to eat. Very hard, not like singapore's limpy kind of version.. You can literally tear out strips of sinew that are not only chewy to eat, but at the same time, gives my buccal muscles some oral exercise.
My mum bought me something too, something which i've always yearned for, a
Grey Nike windbreaker with orange and blue side designs, it is very nice and comfortable to wear. So far i've not seen t being sold in Singapore, so perhaps i'm having the only one too! Heh.
I hate homestead and all other Free-for-only-a-few-days program companies
They are such rip offs. Yah, no doubt they need the money to survive and cannot always allow people sponging off their profits by allowing them to download free softwares. But by doing so, they are neglecting a whole bunch of
I-cannot-pay-for-your-services-but-i-want-to-use-them kind of teenagers like me! My blog recently got its pictures removed because homestead decided that i wasn't going to pay for its ftp hosting, hence, pulled the plug on the site whereby i've uploaded all my pics. So do not be alarmed if you see my site peppered with the ugly crosses.
It is just a sign of poverty on my part. Hah. But anyways, i found some nifty solutions to overcome my little technical dilema. There are good websites around that provides cracked codes for these ubiquitous programs. On my computer alone, all the macromedia programs that i have are all "30 day trial period" types. Hehe. Deleted all of them, took up space only. But i might re-install them, and using the website, get myself a fully
"paid" copy of the macromedia stuffs. It is very expensive to own a macromedia program, for those who normally use them, you guys will know it costs around the tune of $100 dollars, and
NO that isn't in Singapore Dollars, but US dollars
as the website is an american website, they only deal with their greenback.
CJC rocks, there is nothing more to be said than that
CJC rocks man, to those who do not believe, go on believing, as long as i feel CJ rocks, it is all that matters.
If you want to be part of change and experience it happening, if you want a schoolo which is austere in a resonable, yet draconian manner. If you yearn to feel at home, then come to CJC. It will be your home away from home. We're not just a school of intellectual wannabes, we are a community of learners, a community of people that want our school to do well. We are CJC.
Heh, propaganda to feed your sunday with.
Well, finally finished up the J2 banner after 2 months of excruiating delays.
Thanks to Andrea, Evelyn, Philene and Desmond for taking time off to help your helpless-in-art Pressy do the banner, really appreciated your help!
Here it is!
Well, that is all i suppose, for now, will be back laters. C'ya guys.
