First day of training in Guards..
nothing much happened, mostly admin time given for us
to settle some of our personal equipments.

Anyway, passed out from SISPEC already..
been a meaningful 21 weeks spent there...a chance
for me to understand who i really am..

I guess its all God's plan for us, to make us take a path one
has not intended. Though my initial posting after BMT
was less than desired, i still did my best for the 2 courses
(i.e : BSLC and ASLC)

Had the usual parade today, got my Chevrons and my posting order..
I'm gonna be a GUARDS SPECIALIST
Have been posted to
1st Battlion Guards
Which you might recall was the Best Infantry Combat Unit in 02/03.
Quite happy about it as Guards is one unit i've always wanted to
go to last time but felt inadequate for it.
Now that i'm going there, at LEAST there is something
that i've mananged to fulfill.
I'm quite looking forward to getting my Khaki Beret..
my Guards Tab and the recognition that comes with it
Its anytime better than being an Infantry Spec.
Atleast with a Guards tab, i can look up to the sky much higher...
and wear my chest higher off the ground.

The GCC (Guards Conversion Course) will not be simple, neither will
it be impossible.
I will still carry on with my attitude of never falling out,
never giving up, fighting all the way to the blistering end.
What cannot be achieved, must be achieved one way or another.

Most of my platoon mates either went 6 SIR or 1st Guards, with a few
exceptions going TDS (Tuas Defence Force at Tuas Naval Base)
or IMOS (???)
Quite happy that most of my friends in ASLC
people like
Kian Hean, Lennard, Vinze, Ikhwan, Tiong,
Joses, Malcom, friends from Golf BSLC...and bunkmates.
all going 1st guards with me...

The best part aboput my posting is that Dieppe Barracks is just
2-3 busstops away from my place.
Makes it easier for me to book in and out....

i've learnt in SISPEC, my spiritual home as a Specialist..
